#8 Turquoise – A collector’s item.  This mine, located in Eureka County, Nevada was discovered in 1925 and first mined in 1929.  The mine produced some of the largest nuggets of turquoise ever discovered. #8 Turquoise, considered some of the finest turquoise, is known for its spider webbing and light blue to dark blue color with green shading. The matrix is usually golden to reddish brown and even black.  This mine is now closed for turquoise mining so when the reserves are gone, there will be no more on the market.
